J-r was always more alternative and edgier than I. But I respected his determination, his ethos, and his creativity, even though I often disagreed with his Taurean, older brother attitude. He paved the way for my freedoms both as a teenager and now as an older woman.
I loved the album Horses back in the day, and given my Hair thang this part of the song Land always got to me. I used to play this when fantasizing about Ryan, and it was the first piece of ‘my’ music I shared with him. Just sayin’
The man, his music, the dope and the panel van became familiar territory in the succeeding months we spent in each others company. We made no pretence of love, but our non-monogamous relationship was, in the first instance, an anodyne to my sadness and eroded confidence.
His t-shirt was a virulent shade of green and I was trying to decipher what the yellow logo was when he noticed me watching. Our eyes locked then he pointedly licked his lips.
As a result of that post several people commented on the value of getting to know me a bit better. This surprised me, as I thought I’d been doing just that all along. The sounds of The Dead Kennedy’s song “Too Drunk To Fuck” pounded through the doors and I laughed awkwardly. I hoped that song wasn’t prophetic. #wickedwednesday #kinkoftheweek

but sleep became an intermittent commodity when Ryan and I were first together. If there was a way to keep ourselves awake in that narrow bed we found it.
The movement raised the hem of my already short dress further, as the jacket caught the underlying cloth. I heard Ryan give a short laugh, then he was right behind me.
Despite my haste, I surreptitiously checked out the other shoppers, looking to make eye contact, exchange a smile or a few friendly words. But everyone else seemed to be caught in the frenzy of shopping for the evening meal, just as I was.
